The Davidoff Year of the Snake Masterpiece Humidor 2025

Graceful and elegant on the outside, the Snake is known for their passionate and energetic nature. Their quick wit and their remarkable sensitivity make them an empathetic and devoted companion who is a joy to be with. Snakes enjoy the fine things in life, like this beautiful Masterpiece Humidor crafted in their name. The precisely assembled marquetry artwork on the lid captures the Snake’s dynamic nature and devoted passion as they protect what is most valuable to them.

To emphasise and enhance the artwork’s vitality and dynamism, the humidor crafter Mariane chose contrasting textures: stamped velvet and silk velvet with their shiny reflections, crepe with its grainy wave, and tobacco leaves adorned with mesmerising 24-carat gold. To complete the scene and add a historical element to this contemporary piece, she also used red moiré from Lyon, which is produced on a 100-year-old machine. In addition to the visual appeal, the duality of the materials also reflects the concept of yin and yang in Chinese culture, which embodies the idea of harmony and balance created by contrasting elements. The meticulous assembly of all the elements required the use of a magnifying glass and surgeon’s tweezers. The inlaying of the embossed velvet and the cutting of the silk velvet were particularly delicate due to the fine angles involved. The application of the gold to the tobacco leaf was equally precise.

Each of the 25 humidors is filled with exclusive Davidoff Year of the Snake cigars, specially created by Davidoff’s Master Blenders for this Masterpiece only. Each gran toro cigar is adorned with a beautiful second band in red with a yellow accent. As red is considered a lucky colour in Chinese culture, and yellow is one of the lucky colours of the Snake zodiac sign, the combination is believed to bring good fortune and prosperity, especially to those born in the Year of the Snake. The 88 cigars come arranged on a handy tray, which can be taken out of the humidor by its gold-plated handles.
