The launch of the Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2025
Sir Winston Churchill had a diverse range of interests which governed his daily routines. Most now don't realise that one of Sir Winston's favourite ways to unwind from the rigours of running a country was through his love for art. A highly regarded painter, it was his achievements on the canvas which gave Sir Winston as much pride as those on the world’s stage. His paintings of rich landscapes provided a creative outlet that fuelled his other responsibilities.
It is this inspiration that led the Davidoff Master Blenders to compose the latest of the Churchill Range limited-edition cigars. Comprised of a multi-origin blend that intends to be as layered as Sir Winston and his paintings, the complex yet harmonious taste journey of nuts, coffee and cedar wood would have been the perfect accompaniment for one of Sir Winston’s painting sessions. This cigar uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Mexican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. As with the recently released Year of the Snake, the cigar uses Dominican tobaccos from the Martín García area of the Dominican Republic.

Like the cigar, the packaging design of the Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2025 is inspired Sir Winston Churchill’s painting prowess. This is evident upon opening the wooden box, which features Churchill’s painting “Cork Trees Near Mimizan” inside the lid as well as on the second cigar ring of the ten Churchill cigars. Davidoff was granted exclusive permission to use the artwork thanks to the collaboration with the Churchill family.
Inside the box, a wooden separator allows for the cigars to be stored properly. For those aficionados who wish to present their cigars outside the box, Davidoff has included a wooden inlay inspired by a painter’s palette. Another element reminiscent of an artist’s toolbox is the hook clasp accompanied with two golden hinges on the sides to keep the lid in place.

As with previous Winston Churchill cigars, the Limited Edition 2025 delights with complex flavours of nuts, black coffee and cedar wood. In particular the tobacco from the Martin Garcia zone, with its high exposure to sunlight and very rich dark soil, adds a unique complexity and sweetness to the cigar. The refined aromas and subtle flavours change and develop throughout of the generous Churchill format, with a smoke time reaching past 70 minutes.

Expect a complex blend with a long enjoyment time that will be appreciated by both aficionados and collectors around the world. Production of this edition has been limited to just 18,000 boxes worldwide.
